LAst night I was at this shopping centre and, as I pulled into a parking bay, the woman in front of me was reversing out. Besides reversing out into a steady stream of traffic, she was busy lighting a cigarette and talking on her cell phone at the same time. Actually, judging from the way she was talking, she was yelling into the phone as she seemed very agitated. How she did not hit another car or person is some kind of miracle. |

At my work, all our contacts with customers are logged onto a database. I wrote out an email earlier, copied it and opened the database to paste it against a client. It took me a couple of minutes of trying to figure where to paste to realize it was a personal email so obviously I would find no customer to paste it against ... just force of habit. |

I was at this restaurant over the weekend and, after dinner, I ordered a coffee. The place was dimly lit as I poured the milk so I looked closely. The coffee was still dark so I poured a bit more. It was only when I noticed the smell that I realized I had poured vinegar into my coffee (the milk was in a similar container to the vinegar...) On a positive note, it was a really good meal otherwise. |

Yesterday, I had a quick look at the recent deaths section on Wikipedia - somebody jumped the gun and listed Paul Newman as deceased. A bit later this entry was removed though. But later it was back but now I see it is gone again. I guess not everybody sticks to fact on Wikipedia. |

Some time ago I was joking around with a group of colleagues. I was talking garbage (okay - what's new...) and, somewhere along the line, I made up a story (I think it was about the origin of the word sandwich.)The people I was talking to knew I was talking garbage and treated it as such. A few days later I overheard somebody repeating my story, but as fact. It appears somebody had overheard me talking but was unaware that it was a garbage story and had been repeating the story to other people. I put them right at that moment but I sometimes wonder how many other people have repeated the story down the line and believe it. |
